About SIAS Youth Chapter

In an effort to further reach out to the young investors of Singapore and to create more opportunities for them to learn the ropes of investing, the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) Youth Chapter (“SIAS-YC”) was conceptualized by Mr. David Gerald, President & CEO of SIAS and Mr. Melvin Tan, then Chairman of the Alliance of Varsity Investment Clubs (“AVIC”).

AVIC comprised of the National University of Singapore - Students’ Investment Society (“NUS-SIS”), Nanyang Technological University - Investment Interactive Club (“NTU-IIC”), Singapore Management University – E.y.E Investment Club (“SMU-EYE”) and Singapore Institute of Management – Investment & Networking Club (“SIM-INC”). At the request of the four university investment clubs, members of these clubs are automatically enrolled as SIAS-YC members.

The SIAS-YC was officially launched on the 7th October 2009 at the SIAS 10th Anniversary Celebration & Investors’ Choice Awards 2009.
