Turid Elisabeth Solvang is managing director of the Norwegian Institute of Directors, chairwoman of ecoDa, the European Confederation of Directors’ Associations, and vice-president of EWOB, European Women on Boards.

Ms. Solvang co-founded the Norwegian Institute of Directors (www.styreinstitutt.no) in 2009. The institute serves boards of directors of listed and state-owned companies. Our members are the largest listed companies in Norway.

With a background in corporate communication, she previously headed up Burson-Marsteller Oslo’s corporate communication practice, and the marketing division of Fearnley Data. From 2004 to 2009, she focused on providing board-related services, including board director recruitment.

Turid E. Solvang is a seasoned speaker at corporate governance events in Europe and globally.

From 3 November 2015, Turid E. Solvang chairs the European Confederation of Directors’ Associations (www.ecoda.org), which represents 55,000 board directors from 20 European countries.. As board member of ecoDa since 2011, she has contributed to ecoDa’s initiatives in such areas as governance policy, nomination, evaluation, and diversity. In June 2013, she also helped establish EWOB, where she currently serves as vice-president. Ms. Solvang has held non-executive directorships in the financial and service sectors and membership organizations.

Turid E. Solvang holds master’s degree from BI Norwegian Business School in general business economics.
